About Governors' Mugie House

Governors’ Mugie perfectly combines with our other properties, expanding an already diverse array of wildlife locations and activities. The location is Mugie Conservancy, a private wildlife conservancy in Laikipia of almost 50’000 acres hosting an array of impactful community and conservation programs. Perched on a hill are eight stone cottages, each with sweeping views of the Laikipia landscape. A large main house with open log fires hosts guests for relaxing cocktails and delicious meals, while an infinity pool offers lovely shaded areas for casual, open air dining. The waterhole and purpose-built hide set below the house attracts a variety of wildlife that comes to drink.

Mugie Conservancy

Governors’ Mugie is situated in the northern part of Mugie Conservancy, a private wildlife reserve in Laikipia spanning nearly 50,000 acres. The conservancy leads in conservation by balancing low-impact cattle ranching with the preservation of vital ecosystems rich in wildlife. It promotes community involvement through innovative grazing programs and micro-economic assistance, fostering local engagement and investment in Mugie’s conservation goals.

Transportation of Guests and standard activities on Mugie Ranch. Transportation of Guests will be in our custom built 4WD vehicles.
All air-strip transfers and two extended excursions daily into Mugie Ranch and surrounding areas, to local Villages (Manyattas), and to / from the local schools and other community and conservation projects we support and which guests may wish to visit.
